Turkey turns into key country over New Silk Road project
(MENAFN)An expert specializing in international economic security at the Turkish National Police Academy stated that, Turkey turned into a key country in the so-called Middle Corridor of the New Silk Road project.
Several pointed to another possible path, across Turkey to China via the Caucasus region, the Caspian Sea and Central Asia, by discussions on alternative global trade routes having steam after six days of closure in the critical Suez Canal waterway because of Ever Green ship.
Safa Catal further stated that "Logistics delays cost world trade billions of dollars," adding that the overcrowding of the ship (Ever Given) in the Suez Canal left severe losses to world trade and once again showed the need of alternative routes.
The Trans-Caspian East-West-Middle Corridor Initiative is considered one of the most significant parts of efforts to renew the Silk Road trade route that unites East Asia and Europe.
