    Saudi Ministry of Human Resources announces minimum wage increase

    (MENAFN)The General Organization for Social Insurance completed its new minimum wage for workers older than 50, 5 months following first announcing the change.

    Al Eqtisadiah stated that Employers must increase the wages of Saudi workers who are 50 years old and above to more than SR4, 000 (USD1, 066) a month, adding that the last minimum wage stood at SR3, 000.

    Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi proclaimed the boost in November last year for all Saudis and stated that at the time it would be implemented 5 months later.

    Saudi workers being paid below SR4, 000 a month will only count as half a worker in the Kingdom’s nationalization program, Nitaqat.
