    Egyptian economic coasts of pandemic reach USD23.6M

    (MENAFN)Egyptian economic drops due to the pandemic stood at 370 billion Egyptian pounds (USD23.6 billion).

    According to Al Arabiya, Finance minister Mohamed Maait stated that the country’s deficit for 2021 reached 500 billion Egyptian pounds, as overall debt is within 88 percent of GDP.

    He further declared that “More than 100 billion Egyptian pounds have been spent to support the sectors affected by the pandemic.”

    Some 132.5 billion Egyptian pounds were shipped from the state treasury to the Insurance and Pensions Fund amid July and March of the year 2020/2021.
