    Turkey: Exports to Libya increase 228 percent to USD263.3M in 2021

    (MENAFN)According to a top Turkish trade group, Turkey's exports to Libya increased 58 percent annual in the first quarter of 2021 to USD826 million.

    Murtaza Karanfil, chairman of the Turkey-Libya Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) stated that as Turkey's overall exports increased 33.1 percent this January-April, this improvement in Libya stood at 58 percent, almost double the average.

    Exports to Libya increased 228 percent to USD263.3 million in comparison to the previous year same time span, declaring that good mutual relations are being reflected in trade, Anadolu Agency quoted Karanfil as saying.

    He further stated that "We know that the Turkish private sector is enthusiastic about completing missing projects and taking part in new projects in Libya," mentioning the work that had to be discarded due years of chaos in the North African country.
