Dubai Coin's relaunch fake
(MENAFN)According to Dubai’s government, the re-open of Dubai Coin, a digital currency that it was claimed could be used to buy commodities, is a deceit.
The government further declared that “Dubai Coin cryptocurrency was never approved by any official authority,” adding that “The website promoting the coin is an elaborate phishing campaign that is designed to steal personal information from its visitors.”
ArabianChain stated that Dubai Coin's relaunch was unreal and both its name and logo were used fraudulently in a news release and website, the UAE-based blockchain start-up that set up Dubai Coin in 2017.
The National newspaper stated that Dubai Coin was re-opened the current week among claims it had official backing. The press release reported by PRNewswire was removed from its website.
