    Egypt, France ink USD2.06B worth of deals

    (MENAFN)According to the cabinet, Egypt inked €1.7 billion (USD2.06 billion) worth of deals with France to fund projects in the transportation, infrastructure, electricity and wholesale sectors.

    It further declared that €776 million (about USD939 million) of the mentioned fund will be received from the French government and €990 million from AFD, France's development agency.

    The signings came in a visit by French finance minister Bruno Le Maire to Cairo.

    In May, France declared a €4 billion (about USD4,841 billion) deal to deliver 30 Dassault warplanes to Egypt beginning in 2024, improving relations with what it considers a vital partner in fighting Islamist militants.
