    Oman's non-oil economy increases 5.7 percent in 1Q of 2021

    (MENAFN) According to Asharq, Oman's non-oil economy improved by 5.7 percent in the first three months of 2021 standing at 5.7 billion Omani riyals (USD14.8 billion).

    Oil activities decreased by 20.6 percent, amounting to 1.9 billion Omani riyals, and the total natural gas activities dropped by 10.4 percent to come on at 320.8 million Omani riyals.

    The Omani economy dropped in the January- May period, hit by the negative performance of the oil sector.

    Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics & Information showed that the Sultanate's GDP marked a decrease of 2.5 percent at the end of the first three months of 2021 at current prices, reaching to 7.389 billion Omani riyals.
