    Lebanese government discusses country’s economic woes

    (MENAFN)Lebanese agriculture minister stated that the fall down of Lebanon’s currency, the pound, and restrictions forced by Saudi Arabia on importing Lebanese agricultural products warned for worsen food insecurity and estimating a wave of hunger in the country.

    Fear is increasing daily as Lebanon continues to be locked in economic and political crises, Anadolu Agency quoted Abbas Mortada as saying.

    Once considered the Paris of the Middle East, Lebanon was suffering with a shocking economic crisis for nearly three years among a prolonged civil war, regional conflicts and political instability.

    The crisis that began in October 2019, improved further with the devastating blasts at the Port of Beirut last August that resulted in more than 200 deaths and thousands wounds in addition to enormous material damage.
