    Saudi Arabia awards licenses to 2 new mobile virtual network operators

    (MENAFN)The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) awarded licenses to two new mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), amounting the total number of MVNOs in the Kingdom to four.

    The incorporated Telecom Mobile Co. and Future Networks Communications Co. to be given the licenses after they won a competition proclaimed by the CITC in February 2021.

    Virgin Mobile KSA and Etihad Jawraa were awarded MVNO licenses by the commission in 2014.

    Companies with MVNO licenses are allowed to offer users several services, including voice calls, internet, SMS, voicemail, and media services. They do not own any towers or frequencies, and to operate, they lease the infrastructure from existing providers.
