    UN head expresses worry over rise on Lebanon-Israel border

    (MENAFN)Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General showed worry over the latest rise on the Lebanon-Israel border.

    As stated by Stephane Dujarric, the UN secretary-general's presenter "The secretary-general expresses his deep concern about the recent escalation between Lebanon and Israel across the Blue Line, including rocket fire into Israel and return airstrikes and artillery fire into Lebanon."

    Dujarric also mentioned to reporters "The secretary-general calls on all parties to exercise utmost restraint. It is paramount that all actors involved avoid actions that can further heighten tensions and lead to miscalculation."

    The border separation between Lebanon and Israel issued by the United Nations in 2000 is called The Blue Line.

    Furthermore, Farhan Haq, who is Guterres' deputy presenter, had uttered the world body's worry over the rise, and the recent report by the UN secretary-general's presenter is more relevant to Guterres.

    During an everyday press conference, Guterres' deputy presenter said "We call on all parties to exercise utmost restraint and maintain stability. Lebanon cannot afford another crisis."
