Dubai airport estimates 56M passengers in 2022
(MENAFN)To pass through Dubai International in 2022, Dubai’s state airport operator is estimating 56 million passengers, increase its target for this year though still below pre-pandemic levels.
A major travel hub, the airport, witnessed an improvement in passenger traffic in latest weeks after the start of the peak summer travel season and a facilitating in travel restrictions for some core markets.
Dubai Airports Chief Executive Paul Griffiths was quoted as saying that “This gives rise to a more optimistic forecast and we are looking at something like 56 million for the year to come.”
The airport served 25.9 million passengers in 2020 and 86.4 million in 2019, the year before the pandemic struck.
