    Iran to start commercial operation of 1st private sector high-efficiency F-class power plant

    (MENAFN)The start of the commercial operation of the first private sector high-efficiency F-class power plant in Iran was proclaimed by the manager of Iranian Thermal Power Plants Holding (TPPH)’s private power plants program.

    The portal of the Energy Ministry known as Paven qouted Roohollah Espanani as saying that this combined cycle power plant, called Caspian, is built with €260 million (about USD 305 million) of investment and has the capacity of 460 megawatts (MW).

    The efficiency of the power plant that is situated near Nowshahr city in northern Mazandaran province is 58 percent in the combined cycle mode.

    Espanani further declared that it is the first single-axis power plant in the country that utilizes Class F gas turbines and its commercial operation, as fulfill the requirements of the country's electricity network, is going to act an important role in reducing blackouts in Mazandaran province during the peak consumption period in the upcoming years.
