    Consumer prices in Turkey increase 19.25 percent annual in August

    (MENAFN)According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Turkey's annual inflation rate increased in the last month in comparison to July.

    The Institute (TurkStat) further declared that from 18.95 percent in July, consumer prices in Turkey increased 19.25 percent year-on-year in August.

    Based on Anadolu Agency survey, a group of 16 economists estimated an average annual increase of 18.78 percent in consumer prices over the month, as the number was higher than market predictions.

    Food and non-alcoholic beverages declared that the greatest annual price increase with 29 percent, followed by furnishings and household equipment with 22.91 percent, and transportation with 21.76 percent.
