    Iran’s export of steel ingots increases 39 percent in 5 months

    (MENAFN)In the first five months of this Iranian year, Iran’s export of steel ingots rose 39 percent, in comparison to the previous year same time span.

    Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) stated that 3.079 million tons of different types of steel ingots (slab, billet, bloom) was exported in the mentioned period of 2021, while the number stood at 2.213 million tons in last year same time, according to the data released by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).

    During the first five months of the current year, Iran’s import of the steel ingots dropped 33 percent to 2,000 tons from 3,000 tons of the past year’s same time span.

    In addition, Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry issued a three-month waiver for some approved steel production units in May, to be capable to export steel products especially long sections.
