Lubna Olayan to head up Saudi foreign business council in Kingdom as 1st woman
(MENAFN)Lubna Olayan, Prominent Saudi businesswoman becomes the first woman to lead a foreign business council in the Kingdom after the General Authority for Foreign Trade approved her as president of the Saudi-Swedish Business Council.
Her deputies are Mohammed Batterjee and Saud Al-Suleiman.
Time magazine in 2005 has named her as one of the 100 most influential people, as she was a major figure in Saudi business for decades, she also has featured in the Forbes list of most powerful women many times over the years, most recently at no. 58 in 2018.
In 2019 she became chairwoman of the Saudi British Bank, and was reappointed to a three-year term in January 2020 after its merger with Alawwal Bank to set the Kingdom’s third-largest lender.
