    Saudi Arabia’s holding of US Treasury securities increases by 0.2 percent from June

    (MENAFN)New data from the US government showed that Saudi Arabia’s holding of US Treasury securities rose for the second consecutive month in July, to amount at USD128.1 billion.

    The data also declared that the holdings rose by 0.2 percent from June, and 2.8 percent from July 2020. Though, the Saudi holdings in July decreased by 5.2 percent from the start of the year when it reached USD135.1 billion.

    As countries around the world raised their holdings by 5.7 percent in the two months leading up to July, the improvement in June and July came with global trends.

    In addition; analysis declared that Saudi holdings are still lower than their peak of USD184.4 billion in February 2020. As the global pandemic took hold in March 2020, the Saudi government dropped its holding, since the Kingdom’s reserves were affected by the fall down in oil prices.
