Algeria to supply Spain with 10.6 bcm of gas in December
(MENAFN) The state news agency quoted Algeria’s energy minister as saying that the North African country was accomplishing its pledged obligations for supplying natural gas to Europe.
Algeria provided Spain with 8 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas and would increase the rate to 10.6 bcm in December with the growth of the Medgaz pipeline.
As tight supplies shattered with strong demand in economies recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, European gas prices increased in the current year.
The recovery in economic activity following the reduction of coronavirus lockdowns has laid bare a lack of natural gas stocks and other fuel supplies, leading to a power failure in some countries.
