Turkish Price Stability Committee meet to talk about dealing with inflation

(MENAFN) According to the Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry statement on Wednesday, the country’s Price Stability Committee has met to talk about procedures to aid the battle against inflation in 2022.

The gathering, whose chairman is the Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati, made a decision to take procedures to guarantee the continuance of supply safety and to renew the instruments employed to lower the input price in agricultural goods.

The ministry also stated that price movements that do not correspond with the supply-demand balance are going to be carefully supervised. Based on the Turkish Statistical Institute data published on Monday, the country’s inflation rate reached a 19-year high in December, hitting 36.08 percent.

As promised in the government’s significant economic development package in March of last year, the Price Stability Committee was created by a presidential order on June 30 of the previous year.
