    The Turkish mining exports hit record high of USD5.9B last year

    (MENAFN) According to Fatih Donmez, the energy and natural resources minister, announcement Tuesday, the country’s mining exports hit a record high of USD5.9 billion during last year.

    Donmez stated while delivering a speech at the 2021 Mining Exports Evaluation meeting, that both the energy and mining industries have had a fruitful year in spite of the international coronavirus pandemic.

    Donmez stated that from mining exports worth USD565 million in 2000, a ten-fold surge was recorded over the last 20 years and a 40 percent yearly basis increase in last year with mining exports amounting at USD4.27 billion.

    The official mentioned, "the top 10 countries that we exported in 2021 were China, the US, Spain, Bulgaria, Belgium, Italy, India, Sweden, Germany, and France. Of course, it is not limited to these. We also added new countries to our portfolio such as Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, Albania, and Serbia."
