    Turkish automotive sector records exports worth of USD29.3B during last year

    (MENAFN) Based on the Turkish Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB), the country’s automotive sector, the locomotive of the nation’s economy, exchanged exports that are valued at USD29.3 billion during last year.

    The auto industry took the first position in the nation's total exports with 13.3 percent. The EU market comprises of 64.6 percent of the nation's overall automotive exports, with USD19 billion.

    Germany was the biggest export market during last year. In the previous year, Turkey's exports to Germany jumped by 17 percent versus the preceding year, hitting USD4.1 billion.

    The sector also recorded increases in its exports to France as well as the UK, with 14 percent and 39 percent. There was also a 22 percent rise in exports to Morocco.
