    Turkey’s flower exports reach USD148m

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish industry group statement on Wednesday, the country’s flower exports reached USD148 million last year, jumping 38 percent from the preceding year.

    Ismail Yilmaz, head of the Ornamental Plants and Products Exporters' Association, reported to Anadolu Agency, "the sector has never before been able to achieve such a figure, so it’s a record."

    Yilmaz highlighted that amid coronavirus, the number of nations Turkey exported flowers jumped to 83.

    He noted, "higher logistics costs have directed markets to Turkiye, which is (geographically) closer than other alternatives," emphasizing that the industry intends to reach 20 percent growth in exports in 2022, he mentioned: "We expect exports worth $180 million in 2022."
