    Predictions for Turkey’s current account for Nov. to register USD2.2B deficit

    (MENAFN) Based on an Anadolu Agency survey published on Friday, the country’s present account balance for November is predicted to register a shortage of USD2.2 billion.

    The predictions of a group of 15 economists varied between USD500 million and USD3 billion. The Turkish Central Bank is going to reveal the monthly numbers for the balance of payments this Tuesday.

    In October, the present account balance registered a USD3.1 billion surplus, totaling the yearly progressing deficit to USD15.4 billion.

    Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati stated that October’s figure was Turkey’s highest month-on-month surplus in the past three years. The official also mentioned that the one year progressing deficit was also drastically down from USD35.6 billion in October of two years ago.
