Turkey’s machinery exports increase by 23.2 percent
(MENAFN) Based on Turkey’s Machinery Exporters' Association (MAIB) statement on Wednesday, the country’s machinery sector exports stood at USD23 billion last year, increasing by 23.3 percent in comparison to the year earlier. MAIB also mentioned that the sector's exports also jumped by 18.3 percent when compared with 2019 which refers to the time frame before coronavirus.
According to the head of the association, Kutlu Karavelioglu, the size of purchases demonstrates that the Turkish machinery sector's market stake in the EU as well as US is going to remain growing.
The official also stated that the sector could effortlessly surpass the USD2-billion record in month-to-month exports, saying that it can aim for the USD27-billion record for this year.
As one of the sectors surpassing the USD20-billion record in exports, the machinery sector's exports to both Germany and the US exceeded USD4 billion, each, while it hit the USD1-billion level to main European nations like the UK, Italy, and France.
