Saudi Arabia’s US treasury holdings drop by USD1.5B

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia's holding of US Treasuries dropped by USD1.5 billion two months ago to reach USD115 billion, the lowermost record since the opening month of 2017.

The somewhat slight monthly fall came after a larger drop of USD7.8 billion registered in October pushed by a USD6.8 billion drop in short-term U.S. Treasury bills. The USD1.5 billion decrease seen in November was pushed mostly by the removal of the long-term U.S. Treasuries from the nation's portfolio.

In the assembly of other oil-exporters, it's worth mentioning that Norway sustained its disposal of treasuries as its holding dropped for the second consecutive month. The nation's holding of US Treasuries tumbled by USD4.8 billion in November to USD100.2 billion following a much bigger fall of USD15.8 billion in October.
