    Turkish stock exchange starts Thursday with low figures

    (MENAFN) On Thursday, the Turkish major stock index started at 1,920.21 points, dropping by 30.96 points, or 1.6 percent, from the last ending.

    The BIST 100 index jumped 0.31 percent to end Wednesday’s at 1,951.17 points, with an everyday exchanging capacity of 23.5 billion liras (USD1.7 billion).

    The US dollar/Turkish lira trade rate climbed to 13.6162 on 9.30 a.m. domestic time (0630GMT), versus 13.5700 at Wednesday's end.

    The euro/lira trade rate plummeted to 15.2713 from 15.3280, whereas a British pound exchanged for 18.2764 Turkish liras, dropping from 18.3910. Brent crude oil sold for about USD88.09 for one barrel on 10 a.m. domestic time (0700GMT)
