    Turkey’s private sector overseas debt hits USD169.4B

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish Central Bank announcement on Wednesday, the country’s private sector's unsettled external debts reached USD169.4 billion towards the end of last year.

    Based on the bank’s statement, "private sector's total outstanding loans received from abroad recorded USD169.4 billion as of December," mentioning that the number had dropped by USD3.6 billion from the end of December of the preceding year.

    The sector’s short-term debt from overseas, without trade credits, stood at USD7.8 billion, plummeting by USD1.8 billion from the preceding year.

    The bank also mentioned that around 64 percent, or USD5 billion, of short-term loans comprised of the liabilities of financial organizations.
