    Residential costs in Iran surges 16 percent

    (MENAFN) Based on a report by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), median residential costs surged 16 percent in the capital Tehran in the final month of the previous Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20), in comparison to the corresponding month in the prior year.

    According to the CBI data, the median price for one square meter of a housing unit in the capital city amounted at 351.2 million rials (around USD1,377) in the final month of the previous year, increasing 6.2 from its prior month, and 16 percent from the corresponding month of the prior year.

    As stated, the number of property agreements amounted at 6,800 in the capital city during the final month of the last year, dropping 19.9 percent from its last month, while soaring 29.6 percent, from the corresponding month of the prior year.
