Turkey’s apple producer signs deal with Indian fruit firm

(MENAFN) Turkish apple producer Engin Tarim has signed a big agreement along with Indian apple importer IG International for 50,000 tons of "best-of-breed" apples for the upcoming three years.

The joint venture, IG-EnginTarim, is going to cultivate and promote five apple types in the upcoming three years in about 500 hectares (1,235 acres) in northern Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The areas are recognized as a few of the best places in the globe for increasing powerful varieties of apples because of climate circumstances.

According to IG International Director Tarun Arora statement posted on LinkedIn on Tuesday, "this partnership will bring scalable production, expertise, network and quality assurance to all our customers."
