Forecasts for Iranian economic growth to raise by 3 percent

(MENAFN) The International Monetary Fund (IMF), in its most recent World Economic Outlook report named “War sets back global recovery”, has shifted its prediction of Iran’s real gross domestic product (GDP) in this year to three percent from its last report in which the number was two percent.

The raise in Iran’s economic expansion comes as the body has altered its predictions of the international economic expansion from 4.4 percent in its last report issued in January to 3.6 percent; the fund predicts the international economy to follow the same moderate expansion and end at 3.6 percent next year, as well.

IMF declared, “the outlook for the low-income developing country group has darkened considerably due to worsening pandemic dynamics. The downgrade also reflects more difficult near-term prospects for the advanced economy group.”
