    Yearly tea exports increase 77 percent

    (MENAFN) the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) stated that Iran shipped more than 27,272 tons of tea leaves priced at USD28 million in the prior Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20), registering a 77 percent increase in value in addition to a 68 percent rise in weight.

    As said by Ruhollah Latifi, Iranian tea was exported to 25 nations in the prior year, IRNA announced.

    The United Arab Emirate (UAE) was the highest importer of Iranian tea in the stated year, purchasing 8,304 tons of tea valued more than USD8.774 million.

    Turkey with 2,904 tons valued USD3.537 million of imports, Russia with 2,598 tons valued at least USD3.092 million, India with 2,538 tons valued USD2.371 million, and Iraq with the buying of 2,195 tons valued USD1.998 million worth of tea, were the following four export destinations for the stated commodity.
