QNB: Power, water demand increases due to FIFA WC 2022
(MENAFN) As stated by QNB Financial Services, high demand of power and water caused by the approaching FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is presume to increase the growth of Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) in 2022.
QNB also stated that “Growth in 2022 should be fueled by improved power and water offtake, especially during 2H (second half of) 2022 given the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” said QNB Financial Services in its report. “As expected, the UAH water expansion (61.45 MIGD) was commissioned during 1Q (first quarter) 2021.”
The Umm AI Haul Power Project (which is 60 percent possessed by QEWC, was appointed with a manufacture volume of 2,520 MW of electricity in addition to 136.5 MIGD of desalinated water and started full commercial process in the April-June period 4 years ago.
The firm finalized the growth of Umm AI Houl station, which rose its production capacity of purified water by an extra 61.4 million MIGD, however, the project attained a production volume of 30 MIGD throughout February last year and max production volume was attained start of April last year.
