UAE citizens consider converting to electric automobile due to increase in fuel costs
(MENAFN) In line with a survey by Audi Abu Dhabi around 52 percent of UAE citizens are bearing in mind converting to hybrid or electric cars as the rise in fuel costs is effecting the way customers are thinking about their means of transportation.
The study which asked 1,000 citizens in the UAE, found that 25 percent of people surveyed are waiting for additional EV selections to be operated before making a buying.
Mark Austin, Audi Abu Dhabi general manager stated that “Interest in EVs has continued to grow organically over time, however increasing petrol prices has certainly accelerated the shift in consumers’ attitude towards EV adoption.”
Adding “When considering energy efficiency across the full lifecycle of producing, transporting and using fuel — typically referred to as “well to wheel” — electric vehicles offer high efficiency and the lowest carbon emissions per mile.”
