    Iranian banking system funds USD2.5B to 1,300 knowledge-based companies in one year

    (MENAFN) Iranian banking system funded 669.4 trillion rials (nearly USD2.585 billion) of services to 1,362 knowledge-based firms in the last Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20), to record a 108.2 percent increase in contrast to the year before 1399.

    As mentioned in reports by Mehr News Agency, Bank Mellat accounted for the largest stake of the funded services with 112.9 trillion rials (nearly USD436 million), followed by Bank Melli with 94.4 trillion rials (nearly USD364.6 million) of offered facilities.

    The Islamic Republic has established strategies to upkeep and authorize knowledge-based firms as a step forward to appear the target of the year which is “Knowledge-based Production and job creation” as the economy is dealing with the U.S. restrictions.

    Fatemi-Amin stated that “One of our priorities in foreign trade is to export knowledge-based goods instead of raw or semi-raw materials.”

    the minister stated that “This year, considering the slogan of the year which is “Knowledge-Based Production and Job-Creation”, we are completely revising the criteria for selecting the country’s top exporting companies, so that companies exporting knowledge-based goods are given more importance and would be among the top manufacturers.”
