    Turkish economy increases 7.3 percent annually in Q1

    (MENAFN) In line with the nation’s statistical authority on Tuesday Turkey’s economy increased 7.3 percent annually in the January-March period of this year.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) stated that the nation's gross domestic product (GDP) at present costs rose 79.5 percent to 2.49 trillion Turkish liras (USD179.8 billion) in the first quarter.

    It stated that the value added raised the most between economic and insurance activities with 24.2 percent.

    The numbers increased 16.8 percent in information and communication, 14.9 percent in services, and 8.9 percent in professional, administrative and support service activities throughout the same period.

    The industry sector activity also soared by 7.4 percent, shadowed by a 6.8 percent rise in other service activities and 5.4 percent in real estate activities.

    TurkStat stated that the final intake expenses of resident households earned 19.5 percent in the same period.

    Turksat also stated that Exports of goods and services increased 16.8 percent, whereas imports increased 2.3 percent.
