    Turkish share market increases on Tuesday’s end

    (MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkey’s main share index Borsa Istanbul ended at 2,547.09 points with a day-to-day increase of 0.79%.

    Opening the day at 2,538.89 points, the index gained 19.94 points from Monday's end of 2,527.15.

    The index's worst value throughout Tuesday stood at 2,527.72 points and its peak was 2,553.51.

    Its entire market value was at least 2 trillion Turkish liras (USD126 billion) by market end, with a day-to-day exchange volume of more than 57 billion Turkish liras (USD3.4 billion).

    Throughout the second exchange day of the week, 61 shares on the index increased, 37 dropped and two stayed level, against Monday's end.

    The highest exchange volumes were recorded by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, conglomerate Sabanci Holding, as well as oil refiner Tupras.

    Polyester producer Sasa was the best performer of Tuesday, with its stocks rising 6.73 percent, whereas real estate developer Kizilbuk Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi witnessed the largest fall of 9.62 percent.

    One ounce of gold exchanged for USD1,850.50 by market end, decreasing from USD1,857.50 at the prior end, along with data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

    Cost of Brent crude oil was increased 0.1 percent to USD117.71 a barrel at 6.12 PM regional time (1512GMT).
