Turkish share market records its peak weekly ending
(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index ended level on Friday but recoded its peak level of weekly ending.
Borsa Istanbul closed the week at 2,601.25 points with a day-to-day decrease of 0.01 percent.
After opining the day at 2,611.22 points, the index dropped 0.31 points from Thursday's record-high ending of 2,601.56.
The index's worst price throughout the day stood at 2,591.47 points and its peak stood at 2,623.17 – a new intraday record-high level.
Its whole market worth was over 2.1 trillion Turkish liras (USD128.7 billion) by market end, with a day-to-day exchange capacity of 38.5 billion Turkish liras (USD2.3 billion).
Throughout the final exchange day of the week, 39 shares on the index increased, 60 dropped, and one stayed unchanged compared to Thursday's end.
The best exchange volumes were recorded by polyester producer Sasa, the national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and automotive company Karsan.
Kordsa Teknik Tekstil, which produces and trades industrial fabrics, was the best performer of Friday, with its stocks rising 9.94 percent, whereas Turkish Airlines witnessed the highest fall of 3.27 percent.
Gold was exchanging at USD1,852 an ounce for a 0.9 percent day-to-day decline at 6.48 PM regional time (1548GMT).
The price of Brent crude oil was increased 1.9 percent to USD119.85 a barrel at the time.
