    Turkish share market end Monday’s session in red

    (MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index Borsa Istanbul ended at 2,510.14 points on Monday with a day-to-day decrease of 1.3 percent.

    Opening the day at 2,536.79 points, the index dropped 32.96 points from Friday's end of 2,543.10.
    The index's worst price throughout Monday stood at 2,506.04 points and its best reached 2,552.17.

    Its whole market value was over 2 trillion Turkish liras (USD120 billion) by market end, with a day-to-day exchange capacity of more than 36.2 billion Turkish liras (USD2.1 billion).

    Throughout the initial exchange day of the week, 26 shares on the index surged, 72 dropped, and two stayed the same in comparison to Friday's end.

    The peak exchange volumes were recorded by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, steel producer Eregli, and glassmaker Sise Cam.

    Conglomerate Bera Holding was the highest performer of Monday with its stocks increasing 8.08 percent, whereas Eregli witnessed the largest fall of 6.32 percent.

    One ounce of gold exchanged for USD1,851 by market end, increasing from USD1,840.80 at the prior end, in line with information from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

    The cost of Brent crude oil was dropped by 1.93 percent to USD119.66 a barrel as of 6.13 PM regional time (1513GMT).
