IATA estimates sudden recovery in Mideast aviation sector’s net losses

(MENAFN) A sudden recover in air travel from the COVID-19 epidemic is going to support the Middle East’s flight industry shrink its net deficits to USD1.9 billion this year from USD4 billion in 2021, as stated by the International Air Transport Authority.

In its viewpoint for the airline area’s 2022 economic performance, IATA expected that worldwide industry decrease is going to be cut to USD9.7 billion in 2022, against the deficits of USD137 billion and USD42.1 billion suffered in 2020 and 2021 individually.

IATA also mentioned that industry-wide profitability is already on cards, as the North American district is anticipated to supply an USD8.8 billion income this year.

It also stated that “Strong pent-up demand, the lifting of travel restrictions in most markets, low unemployment in most countries, and expanded personal savings are fueling a resurgence in demand that will see passenger numbers reach 83 percent of pre-pandemic levels in 2022.”
