transit of goods through Iran increases 32pct in Q1 annually
(MENAFN) The chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) declared that transit of goods via Iran rose 32 percent in the January-March period of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21), in comparison to the same quarter in the last year.
Alireza Moqadasi stated that 3.674 million tons of goods were transferred though the nation in the stated quarter.
The official underlined that this rising trend of transportation through Iran is one of the key achievements of the nation.
As already mentioned by the IRICA official, after seven years of decrease in the transit of goods via the nation, the expansion trend of transit continued in the last Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20) and with the passage of 12.65 million tons of goods via Iran, a surge of 68 percent was reached.
Iran is one of the nations that has a high status in exchange and transfer ties because of its strategic location and distinct geography, as the nation is the path of several important global corridors.
