    Iranian oil production rises 16pct YoY in 2021

    (MENAFN) British Petroleum, in its most recent global energy report titled “Statistical Review of World Energy” has stated that Iran’s oil output rose by 16.1 percent or 540,000 barrels per day (bpd) last year regardless of the U.S. restrictions.

    In line with the stated report, the Islamic Republic’s crude oil output amounted to 3.17 million bpd in 2021, compared to 2.73 million bpd in the year before.

    The 16 percent rise in Iran's oil production has been recognized while the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) member nations were able to surge their production by a total of 2.6 percent in 2021.

    The Islamic Republic was placed in second place as the highest increased in oil production between the world’s oil-producing nations in the stated year, accounting for 4.1 percent of the world’s entire production.

    Iranian governments had formerly declared the significant rise in Iran's oil output and shipment in 2021.

    This report presents that last year, 77.83 million bpd of oil was produced in the world, 1.4 percent higher than the number for the previous year.

    In 2021, oil intake surged by 5.3 million bpd as well, however, it stayed 3.7 million bpd lower than the 2019 level and was still considerably lower than the pre-epidemic levels.
