    Iran’s electricity production surges 6.4pct YoY in 2021

    (MENAFN) Iran’s electricity generation surged by 6.4 percent last year, placing the Islamic Republic as the world’s 11th biggest electricity producer in 2021, in line with British Petroleum (BP)’s most recent global energy report titled “Statistical Review of World Energy”.

    In line with the stated report, Iran was able to produce 357.8 terawatt-hours of electricity last year, 20.6 terawatt-hours over the number for 2020.

    The report stated that the average yearly expansion of electricity output in Iran throughout the ten-year period ending last year is nearly at 4.3 percent.

    The Islamic Republic was par of 1.3 percent of the world’s whole electricity generation in the mentioned year.

    British Petroleum data display that Iran's nuclear electricity production last year dealt with a 44.2 percent fall in comparison with the prior year. Iran accounted for 0.1 percent of the world's nuclear electricity generation in the stated year.

    Iran became part of the world’s nuclear power producing nations 10 years ago with the creation of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
