Turkey’s monthly export reaches all-time nation’s high in June

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Trade Minister Mehmet Mus stated that Turkey’s exports increased to USD23.4 billion last month, recording the nation’s all-time peak.

This indicated a surge of 18.5 percent in contrast with the same month last year and Turkey’s “highest monthly export figure of all time,” the minister stated at an event in eastern province of Erzurum.

In line with Mus the Turkish administration’s push to boost exports has brought great success as the high figures registered in 2021 have remained to increase in the opening six months of this year.

The minister stated that Turkey’s exports in the first six months of this year have now soared to more than USD126 billion.

He also stated that overall imports last month reached USD31.6 billion, a yearly rise of 39.6 percent, with energy taking the biggest part of USD8.1 billion.

Foreign trade jumped 29.8 percent on a year-on-year basis to USD55 billion in June, as shown by Trade Ministry numbers.

The biggest export destination was Germany with USD1.9 billion, trailed by the US at nearly USD1.6 billion as well as Iraq with more than USD1.2 billion.

Turkey’s highest import source was Russia with USD5.6 billion, China at USD3.7 billion in addition to Germany at USD2 billion.
