Turkish share market rises at midweek open
(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index started at 2,440.15 points on Wednesday, rising 0.27 percent, or 6.53 points, from the prior end, after a break for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose by 0.35 percent to 2.434,02 points at Friday's end, with a day-to-day exchange volume of 8.7 billion liras (USD500 million).
The US dollar/Turkish lira trading price surged to 17.3717 at 10.00 AM regional time (0700GMT) against 16.3210 at the last end.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange price dropped to 17.4524 against 17.5700, whereas a British pound exchanged for 20.7118 Turkish liras, decreasing from 20.7350 at the prior end.
International main Brent crude was selling at USD99.34 a barrel at 9.10 AM regional time (0610GMT) for a 0.15 percent drop after the prior session ended at USD99.49 per barrel.
American main West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood at USD95.78 a barrel at the same time on Wednesday for a 0.06 percent drop, as the prior session finished at USD95.84 per barrel.
