    NIOC, Gazprom reach agreement on oil cooperation, inking MOU valued at USD40B

    (MENAFN) Shana mentioned in a report that national Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has inked a tactical memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Russia’s Gazprom to collaborate in oil and gas sector ventures worth nearly USD40 billion.

    The MOU was inked by NIOC chief Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr as well as Vitaly Markelov, deputy chairman of the Gazprom management committee, in a virtual ceremony on Tuesday.

    While expressing the inking ceremony, Khojasteh-Mehr stated that inking the memorandum with Gazprom can be considered one of the best foreign investments in the history of Iran's oil business.

    The NIOC chief stated that “The National Iranian Oil Company does not ignore any investment opportunity.”

    He pointed out that Iran and the Russian Federation are determined to secure as well as rise tactical collaboration in numerous areas, stating that “Promotion of economic relations and attracting investment in oil and gas industries is emphasized by President Ebrahim Raisi and fully supported by Oil Minister Javad Oji.”

    Talking about the conference with the senior managers of Gazprom throughout his latest visit to St. Petersburg, Khojasteh-Mehr stated that “Following that visit, Gazprom managers also visited Tehran last week at the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin and we had some constructive negotiations.”
