Iran sustains its place as 10th largest steel manufacturer worldwide in H1 2022
(MENAFN) Iran has sustained its spot as the globe’s 10th largest steel manufacturer throughout the first half of this year, as shown by the most recent figures issued by the World Steel Association (WSA).
The report mentioned that output of crude steel in Iran hit 13.6 million tons throughout the stated period, recording a 10.8 percent decrease annually.
The WSA put the crude steel production by the world’s top 64 manufacturers at nearly 949 million tons in the stated six months, 5.5 percent lower than the number for the first half in 2021.
Iran’s monthly crude steel production reached 2.2 million tons last month, dropping 10.8 percent against the figure for the same month last year.
The world’s manufacturers achieved to output 158.1 million tons of steel in the mentioned month to record a 5.9 percent decline annually.
Manufacturing 526 million and 63.2 million tons of steel, China and India were placed in the first and second places in the stated six months, respectively, whereas Japan was placed third producing 46 million tons of the stated product.
