UAE: Over lack of semiconductor, car deliveries witness postponement
(MENAFN) New car deliveries have decreased with some models facing up to six-month interruption in the UAE.
Car dealers in the UAE accused semiconductors and supply chain problems for the postponements in deliveries of new cars which is a worldwide challenge and not only in UAE.
Vincent Wijnen, senior managing director of Al-Futtaim Automotive, announced car traders in the UAE are witnessing lack of supply.
“We have cars where we have stock and we have cars where you have to wait six months. It also depends on the grade as well because if you take a high grade you may have to wait longer than a base grade. So the delay is not generic,” Wijnen went on to say.
He added that postponement is disturbing luxury vehicles that have high specifications as they are prepared with more semiconductors.
