    Turkish tourism rises 186 percent annually with over 16M visitors in H1

    (MENAFN) Official figures stated on Friday that Turkey attracted an amount of 16.4 million foreign travelers in the first six months of 2022, a yearly increase of 185.7 percent.

    Germans made up the biggest chunk of foreign travelers in the first half with more than 2 million visitors, almost fourfold against last years, in line with the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

    They were trailed by Russians with 1.5 million travelers, Britons with 1.3 million, as well as Bulgarians with 1.2 million in the first half of this year.

    Istanbul, Turkey’s biggest city by population as well as a highest tourist attraction, greeted 41.3 percent of entire foreign travelers, or 6.8 million in the first six months.
