    Residential property sales in Turkey decline 12.9 percent annually in July

    (MENAFN) Residential property trades in Turkey decreased 12.9 percent on an annual basis in July, as shown by the most recent figures issued on Tuesday.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed that an overall of 93,902 houses were traded in July.

    Istanbul had the highest share with 15.3 percent and 14,350 house trades trailed by Ankara with 7,417 and Izmir 4,868, with the share of 7.9 percent and 5.2 percent individually.

    The districts with the least number of sales were Hakkari and Ardahan with 31, in addition to Sirnak 49.

    Sales to foreign customers declined by 12.4 percent to 3,939 units in July.

    House sales to foreigners had a 4.2 percent stake of all house trades last month.

    Antalya came in first place with 1,421 sales to foreigners, shadowed by Istanbul with 1,154 and at third place came in Mersin with 289.

    Between foreign nationals, Russians purchased the most houses, 1,028, and in the second place is Iranians with 431 buying then Iraqis with 380.

    In the first 7 months of the year, house sales surged by 24.2 percent to stand at 820,300, in comparison with the same 7-month period in 2021.
