    Israel, Turkey restart full diplomatic relations

    (MENAFN) Israel and Turkey decided to restart full diplomatic relations, and called for the return of diplomats to both capitals for the first time since 6 years.

    “The resumption of relations with Turkey is an important asset for regional stability and very important economic news for the citizens of Israel,” Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid wrote in a text message to journalists.

    In step with administration approximations, mutual trade of products and business services between both nations amounted to USD7.7 billion the last year.

    Israeli Leader Isaac Herzog went to Turkey earlier in 2022, and the conference was followed up in May to resume talks on direct flights by Israeli airlines.

    Turkey’s main diplomat, Mevlut Cavusoglu, became the first Turkish foreign minister to pay Israel a visit since 2007.
