    Iran’s Thermal power plants’ production surges 2.5 percent in 5 months YoY

    (MENAFN) Iran’s thermal power plants produced 129 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in the opening five months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), recording a 2.5-percent surge in comparison with the prior year’s same period.

    As reported by IRNA, thermal power plants accounted for 92 percent of the nation’s overall electricity generation in the stated five months.

    Throughout the last year, the volume of the nation’s thermal power plants has surged by over 4,000 megawatts (MW) which is an extraordinary record in the history of the nation’s electricity industry.

    As shown by the Energy Ministry data, Thermal Power Plants Holding firm (TPPH) achieved to complete its yearly overhaul program on 94,000 MW volume of power plants from September 2021 to May 2022 to get all the power plants prepared for the summer peak intake period.

    Previously this month, Mohammad Ramezani, the acting chief of TPPH ventures Development Department declared that the electricity generation volume of the nation’s thermal power plants has hit 72,000 MW.
